Hey Charleston!

Wingspan Marketing is a small WordPress Development company specializing in Search Engine Optimization (SEO) for businesses in the Charleston, SC area and beyond.

Since early 2007 I have been working with small businesses and non-profits to build a strong robust presence on the web. Here are a few of my past and present clients.

Time To Sign For It, Finally

certificate

Today I finalized my paperwork for the State of South Carolina and officially became the “managing member” of Wingspan Marketing LLC located in Summerville, SC. WOOHOO!!!

It has been a crazy road so far to get to this point but I believe I’m ready to take this new challenge in my life. I have to say that credit is not do to me or anyone else but my Savior. I would have never made these decisions without Him guiding every step of the way. Sometimes it felt like He was smacking my legs to stay on track while others He seemed to be carrying me on His broad shoulders. Ether way, I just wanted to make sure everyone knew that Wingspan Marketing LLC and every project it produces is only done because of a loving and caring God.

That being said, it was still an incredible feeling to walk into the bank today with my 4 year old, Matthew, and sign the paperwork to open up my business account. Proud, would be a good word to describe it.

In 2007, when I was asked by the Pastor to head up the website ministry I would have never dreamed that I would be doing web development full time.

I know many people have had their LLC since they were 3 and this really isn’t that big of a deal to them. That is just it though, it is a big deal to ME and my family. I can see how this will give me a platform to work from.

I feel as if I am wearing spikes for the first time on a wet golf course or cleats on a freshly watered soccer field. The traction that this paperwork seems to give me is just what I needed to take the next step.

Even bigger things are in the works than I had ever previously thought were possible.

Divine Crosses Moves Up

divinecrosses-home

DivineCrosses.com is a local woodworking company that specializes in handmade wooden crosses. Brad Geoghagan is a seventh generation wood craftsman. He has an incredible talent for woodwork. His hands on method of doing things allowed him to develop a website for his custom handmade crosses site but it was having trouble being found int he search engines.

He contacted me through a mutual friend and wanted to know if I could help him. We talked over breakfast one morning a Denny’s (I’m not lying about that) and got to work.

DivineCrosses.com was one of the very first clients I took on in my SEO career, outside of Burgess Road Baptist. It was interesting to talk with Brad and find the incredible passion he had for his work and the desire to promote his business online.

Our keywords were based on quality results not just traffic numbers. We generated a list of keywords like “custom handmade crosses”, “handmade wooden crosses”, and “custom wooden crosses”. This list translated into quality traffic on the site. It took a little over 6 months to start seeing solid results but after that it just took off.

This Is Embarrassing And Motivating: Google Analyitics

motivation

I started Wingspan Marketing as a small SEO company based in Pensacola, FL this last December. It is fun to be able to blog about different things in Search Engine Optimization that I find interesting while hoping to generate some income.

I haven’t set any traffic goals yet since I am focusing on content. Even still, I didn’t expect to see numbers like the ones I’m going to show you.

SEO In 2011: 3 Predictions

3 SEO predictions for 2011

I’ve heard over and over again that 2011 is the year of the SEO. (I’ve also heard it’s the year of the donkey, moon pies, and Apple. But I’ll save those for another article.) I like this idea since I’m trying to launch my full-time career in the SEO field this year. As I look at the current landscape of search engine optimization and internet marketing (I consider them to be one in the same) there are 3 innovations in the discipline of SEO that I think will happen this year.

When your evaluating the success of a blog or a website it is important to have a standard that you establish in order to determine if you are successful or not.
